CBP: Back Issue Pitt #1 - Seaguy

• February 9th, 2010

ep 001 Seaguy

So far, 2010 has not been kind to us at Comic Book Pitt. First there were illnesses, now there’s blizzards. We’re trying our best to get new episodes recorded, but in the meantime, this is the perfect opportunity to introduce our new mini-show, Back Issue Pitt!

Back Issue Pitt is just what it sounds like; we’ll be talking about an old mini-series or a run of issues for a title that we’ve never read before. It may be a story that was huge or one that no one’s heard of.

The first BIP episode features Seaguy, a three-issue mini-series published by Vertigo Comics in 2004. Written by Grant Morrison, art by Cameron Stewart.

(Also, if this recording sounds a little off in places, it’s because I experimented with recording on my iPod.)

This episode’s music is by Frank Sinatra.

Comic Book Pitt #40 - Retconned!

• November 20th, 2009

deadpool 900

One day in October when we were recording episode #40, the Scarlet Witch appeared in the Comic Book Pitt and simply whispered “No more podcasts.”

We floated between realities until we were finally retconned back into existence in our own universe. For us it was mere minutes, but apparently we were gone for 24 days.

That original 40th episode is still floating out there…somewhere…

The cover scans for this episode can be found on the CBP Flickr site.

The music in this episode is by Ike & Tina Turner.

Comic Book Pitt Special #8 - Ricky’s Comics

• October 27th, 2009

tom skinner up from harlem

So the Duke and I recorded this kick-ass review episode last week spotlighting a bunch of new comics like Haunt, Spider Woman, Planetary, etc. We even had this great conversation about The Walking Dead, the conclusion to the ‘Fear The Hunters’ storyline and whether I was going to continue collecting the series.

Shortly after we recorded that episode, I accidentally recorded another episode, this special episode, right over it.

For the story behind “Ricky’s Comics”, you’ll have to listen, but if you want to see some of what was in said collection, click here.

(Oh, in case you’re wondering, I’m done with The Walking Dead.)
